At work we had a secret Santa gift swap. I got my store manager! I didn't have enough time to make her a hat and something else like I planned, so I made her two dishcloths, and got her some body wash, lotion and spray from Bath & Body Works. Somehow I picked up her favorite scent! Kudos to me.
First I just made a regular cloth. This is my new go-to dishcloth pattern. It's quick, easy, and looks good.
Crochet Dishcloths by Lily / Sugar 'n Cream
Yarn: Lily Sugar 'N Cream Ombres and Prints in Strawberry
Hook: US H (5.0 mm)
Date started and finished: December 16
Mods: It's actually a bit shorter; I didn't want to run out. I could almost make an afghan out of it. Great pattern!
And I made her another one, which she said she's going to put on her daughter's wall! Awh.
Fish Washcloth/Dishcloth by Judith Prindle
Yarn: Lily Sugar 'N Cream Ombres and Prints in Strawberry
Hook: US H (5.0 mm)
Date started and finished: December 19
Mods: I think I added more decreases in the tail section to make it more... "tail-y." I guess so it has more distinction between the body and tail. That makes more sense.
Beautiful yarn! I'd love to make the fish one!
ReplyDeleteGotta love that cotton! Go for it! I love handmade washcloths. They're so nice against your skin.
ReplyDeleteDidn't I mail you some cotton? I can always send more!! :D The cheap Lily 'n Cream cotton is my favorite. It comes in a variety of colors, and is cheap! AND THEY HAVE SCENTED YARN.
