Books!

So I'm not fully recovered, but I did go on a book buying spree today.  There was a huge book sale at the library, and my Dad and I stocked up on some art books.  Mmm, Bernini, Turner and Duchamp goodness.  I also picked up a copy of Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith for only $0.50.

I've been wanting it for a while, but wasn't really too thrilled to pay $13 for a book I'd be destroying., but for $0.50 it'll be worth it.  And fun.  I also picked up a pasta cookbook and can't hardly wait until I'm feeling well enough to make (and eat) tomatoes stuffed with orzo and crabmeat.   Mmm, mouthgasm!

The rest of my money will be "donated" to Crafter's Choice.  First I saw this beauty:

Easy to Crochet Potholders by Cornelia Dobiasch!  Eee!  Just the ones on the cover made me want to buy it.  According to the ad, there's patterns for "adorable animal characters, retro-inspired checks and spirals... lacy rounds festooned with flowers... a duckling in an egg, a cheerful rabbit, a spotted cow... a little pumpkin man...a mushroom with a polka dot cap and a retro-style frilly dress!"  Ooo, that's going to be fun.

On the other page was Comfort Knitting and Crochet Afghans by Norah Gaughan that I first read about HERE and fell in love with the squishy knit-and-crochetability.

I love the Fish Ripples, but of course I'm more partial (and more excited about) the Swirl:

Mmm, lovely hexagons that look like sand dollars!?  How lovely!

And then since there's a sale going on (buy 2 get a 3rd for $1.99) we're getting Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts because "if you want to do something, mind as well do it right" as my mom said.  She is the queen of crafts after all.  (Minus the whole embezzlement fiasco.)
